Wild Basin Outfitters offers half-day and full day guided fly fishing trips in Rocky Mountain National Park for both beginners and experienced fly fishers.  While most of our guided fly fishing trips start in Estes Park, we also service the Grand Lake area. 

What sets us apart from the competition?
   - Waders, Rod & Reel are included in the cost of your trip
   - We also provide all the flies you will need at no additional cost
   - We provide a family-style lunch on all full-day trips
   - Your trip starts when step into the water, NOT when you leave the shop

My 16-year-old son and I recently enjoyed a day of trout fishing with Chris Conway of Wild Basin Outfitters. Coming from the flatlands of Iowa, where weighted lines and bobbers are the norm, we were well out of our comfort zone in the clear waters of RMNP.

Chris put us at ease immediately with his wisdom and patience. We learned the basics of casting and Chris expertly guided us to where the fish were hiding.

All that was left then was the catching part. Soon both my son and I were snapping pictures of our first Trout trophies.

Everything is included in the price of your guided fly fishing trip with us except for three things:
   - Your fishing license
   - The entry fee to the National Park
   - Gratuity for your guide
If you're talking to other shops about a guided trip, ask them what IS NOT included in their prices.  With us, there are no hidden costs!

Wild Basin Outfitters also does not start the clock on your fishing trip until your rod is rigged and you're ready to fish, NOT when you leave the shop.

1/2 Day Trips:
These trips are 4 hours from the time you get on the water, NOT when you leave our shop.  People wanting to learn to fly fish, brush up on some techniques, or just get out on the water for a few hours will enjoy our half-day trips.  Trips include snacks and water. 

For beginners that are looking to get a taste of fly fishing, or visitors that are trying to fit in some fishing between other activities, 1/2-day trips are perfect.

Full Day Trips:
With 8 hours on the water, we can hike into an alpine lake or walk & wade a couple of streams.  These trips are great for people that want to learn the area, or fish different types of water in the same day.  We can also fly fish the Western Slope of Rocky Mountain National Park, which is much less crowded.  

We include a snacks, beverages and a standard lunch with the trip, but we also offer Gourmet Lunches for an additional fee. 

Backcountry:
If you are looking to get more than just a couple miles off the road, consider one of our Backcountry fishing trips.  These trips are for people who are prepared to hike up to 10 miles in the course of a day, with elevation gains of up to 2,000 feet.
